Pregabalin, chemical name (s) - 3-aminomethyl-5-methylhexanoic acid, molecular formula c8h17no2, is an antiepileptic drug, mainly for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia.Pregabalin is an analogue of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), similar in structure and function to gabapentin, and has antiepileptic, analgesic and anxiolytic activities. The antiepileptic mechanism of pregabalin is still unclear. In laboratory studies, pregabalin has anticonvulsant activity on various epilepsy models; After oral administration, pregabalin takes effect within 30 minutes for acute toothache, lasting about 5 hours, and takes effect within 1 week for diabetic neuropathy.
